SAAMA to host Inaugural Asset Management Conference with the support of Pragma

The Southern African Asset Management Association (SAAMA) will host its inaugural physical asset management conference from 12 to 14 May 2014 at the CTICC in Cape Town. The SAAMA conference will take the place of Pragma’s Physical Asset Management Thought Leadership conference, which celebrated its 18th year in 2012.

Says Attie Nieuwoudt, Managing Director: Africa of Pragma: “As this was the only conference facilitating broad based discussions and debate on asset management, Pragma offered to support SAAMA, the official asset management association in South Africa, in hosting the conference in future.”

Adds Anton Booyzen, President of SAAMA: “Fifty five – the way to integrated asset management, will focus attention on the impact of aspects such as ISO 55 000, GFMAM and the 39 subjects on asset management globally. Related asset management developments, methodologies, best practices and case studies will be presented through a range of conference sessions and interactive workshops.”

Booyzen continues: “As the only physical asset management conference that offers a broad spectrum of solutions for the needs of multiple industries, the conference will afford attendees the opportunity to network with other like-minded and industry related peers, both formally and through pre-arranged appointments. Carefully selected conference topics and speakers will offer attendees practical and affordable solutions and best practices that will ensure that assets are maintained to deliver products and services into the future.”

Keynote speakers include Anton Booyzen, Adriaan Scheeres (CEO Pragma), Dean Griffin (Group leader of SA Technical Workgroup on ISO 55000) and Pieter Geldenhuys, (InnovationAgency.com).

Concludes Booyzen: “Those interested can contribute to the conference by presenting a paper. Applications must be submitted on www.saamaconference.org.za by 15 January 2014. Also, Asset Management service providers are invited to co-exhibit at the SAAMA Asset Management Pavilion at the co-located African Utility Week and Clean Power Africa exhibition. Lastly, companies are invited to participate in the SAAMA awards and get a clear understanding of their asset management maturity and a road map to PAS 55 and ISO 55000 accreditation.”
