In June 2010 Pragma Africa entered the South African Facilities
Management Association’s (SAFMA) national facilities management
competition. The competition aims to honour the best facilities
management projects. The competition criteria are:
- Innovation
- Advancement of FM
- Corporate outcomes
- Contribution to Global FM’s mission
Leadership in FM operationsPragma’s submission was the Shell FMC project, which has been running for almost five years.
The
Shell FMC provides a fully outsourced asset management solution to more
than 800 Shell retail sites in southern Africa, including job
scheduling, breakdown call handling and logging, contractor management
and payment, financial management, reporting and continuous improvement.
SAFMA is member of Global FM, a worldwide alliance of facility
management organizations with the aim of providing leadership in the
advancement of the FM profession. SAFMA subsequently submitted the Shell
FCM as the only South African submission for the Global FM Awards. The
Global FM Awards for Excellence in Facilities Management recognise
efforts by individuals or teams within the FM industry, who have made a
positive contribution to the knowledge, practical application and
communication of strategies to improve the workplace environment and
sustainable performance of their facilities.
The competition was won by the Department for Children, Schools and
Families in the United Kingdom. Pragma’s submission failed to make the
top 3, but was one of 13 finalists, and we wish to congratulate everyone
working on this important contract. Your daily high quality service and
persistent innovation is what makes such results possible.
