Pragma will be assisting the Adolph Schauder Primary School, located in Schauderville Port Elizabeth, by supplying them with school materials and restoring their learning environment this coming Friday, 30 November 2012.
Sibu Kolobile, Asset Care Coordinator, says: “The school is in desperate need of supplies and the community doesn’t have the funds to restore and create the optimal learning environment needed for their learners.”
The Adolph Schauder Primary School is situated in Schauderville, Port Elizabeth, an area well known for poverty, neglect and abuse. Learners from disadvantaged backgrounds come to this primary school, a place of comfort and learning, where friends are made and where, despite the hardships at home, children can find a form of hope and happiness.
Kolobile requested that three of her colleagues visit the primary school in order to inspect the condition that the school is currently in. “They reported back to me saying that the classrooms needed to have all their blackboards painted. We also had a discussion as to what else we could add to that and we came up with making stationery packs for the grade 1’s to grade 8’s,” adds Kolobile.
She concludes: “Our team of 19 will be painting 14 blackboards in total and will put together stationery packs for 460 children. These packs will consist of the basics such as pencils, erasers, rulers, books, paper, chalk sticks and wax crayons. After the hard work is over on the day, we’ll relax and have a drink at Cubata with our partners.”
