Our Asset Management Improvement Planning (AMIP) assessment gives you a detailed understanding of your AM maturity. It is an excellent indicator of priorities, indicating where your organisation needs to invest to ensure that your AM capabilities, performance and resources are aligned and able to meet your consumers’ needs.
Pragma’s AMIP framework provides a structured environment where we help you define your ideal AM state, assess your current state and identify the gaps between the two. The assessment results inform your strategic asset management plan (SAMP), where we help you set priorities and targets to achieve your goal.
The AMIP framework is based on over 30 years of Pragma’s cumulative Asset Management experience and expertise—working with some of the top companies in the world. The AMIP framework is broken down into twenty Key Performance Areas or KPAs. These cover the full body of asset management practice. The key performance areas are aligned with the Global Forum for Maintenance and Asset Management’s 40 subjects and ISO 55000.
Each of the key performance areas is divided into 170 best practices, which in turn are divided into approximately 3800 verification points. Verification points are objective and unambiguous statements describing asset management practices within the organisation.
Combining 20 key performance areas, best practices, and verification points provides a detailed, complete, and repeatable assessment tool aligned to global benchmarks.

How does it work?
Assess
The assessment involves an evaluation of requested material, an on-site tour and interviews with role players and the verification of the information provided during interviews. Our engineers use our own proprietary software tool, Assessor, to perform and record the assessment scoring. Unlike one-dimensional assessments, Assessor measures an organisation’s asset management maturity using two quadrants, namely the Best Practice Maturity Level and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). All role players partake in the consensus mapping (best practices and KPI verification points) and scoring.
Feedback report
We prepare a thorough report based on information gathered during the assessment phase and give feedback on the gaps between your current and ideal AM states. The report includes benchmark comparisons with industry or organisational peers.
