Pragma appoints Melanie Daniels as Business Area Manager in Durban

Taking our team based in Durban under her wing, Melanie Daniels has been appointed as Pragma’s Business Area Manager in the KwaZulu Natal region.

Melanie brings extensive experience to the Pragma team. While she has mainly worked as Project Manager for companies such as SMEC South Africa, Brolaz Eastern Cape and South African National Parks, she has also gained valuable experience as a Civil Engineering lecturer at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU). One of the major projects that she oversaw as Project Manager was the Cornubia Integrated Human Settlements project, a Strategic Infrastructure Project (SIP) launched in December 2013 with a total construction value of R360million.

As part of the Pragma team, Melanie’s main responsibilities will include overseeing the group of asset care engineers as well as driving a strategic asset management focus and innovation in her allocated region. She values Pragma’s people-centric approach the most and has set herself the task to improve the Durban team’s performance.

“Melanie has been a tremendous addition to our management team. She is energetic and passionate, two qualities that have already rubbed off on the rest of her team. I have no doubt that her ability to create focus and establish direction will help us to deliver even more value to our clients,” says Pragma Managing Director, Attie Nieuwoudt.

On a personal note, Melanie believes that her best attribute is the confidence instilled by her father. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and lives by a quote from Nelson Mandela, “Our lives start and end with our loved ones.”
