Pragma: The early years
Born in June 1990, Pragma came from modest but strong beginnings. Politically, South Africa was in chaos when the founders decided to start Pragma. Now, 30+ years later, the world is going through more big changes. With this change comes opportunities, and that is the reason why we are positive about Pragma’s future.
Pragma grew in the 1990s when Adriaan Scheeres started working with logistics expert Arnold Botha and two other founding members. The dynamic team decided to seize the opportunity in the market to deliver maintenance and asset management services and tools to support organisations’ equipment availability, reliability and performance objectives.
Expansion by acquisition
Pragma expanded their service portfolio and offering by acquiring several organisations including a facilities management company (formerly known as SFI), a condition monitoring company (Martec) and an asset management consultancy (CMS in The Netherlands). Through these acquisitions Pragma has gained access to a wealth of industry experience, further enhanced their offering and paved the way to fully incorporate reliability engineering and automated integration into their services.
A growing footprint and service offering
Pragma has increased its global footprint with regional offices and representation in Europe, Mexico and Texas. Partnerships with various companies worldwide allow Pragma to take its services into many more territories and manage even more assets. Pragma is continuously enhancing its solutions and harnessing modern technologies, artificial intelligence and digitisation to stay relevant and provide much-required maintenance management solutions that companies around the globe need.
